Moldmaking
Delcam’s PowerSOLUTION gives benefits to companies making all types of molds, including injection molds for plastics, rubber or ceramics, blow molds for plastics or glass, compression molds and lay-up tools for composites. Delcam software supports every stage in the development of a mold from receipt of a CAD model through the design, manufacture and assembly of the various components. An inspection module can be used at all stages to confirm the accuracy of both tooling and sample parts.
Delcam’s PowerSOLUTION software has proven itself especially suitable for the design and manufacture of injection moulds for plastics. It has allowed many companies to move from a two-stream system, where the core and cavity are designed by one team, with the remainder of the tool designed by a second team in a largely two-dimensional environment.Using Delcam PowerSOLUTION software the entire mould can be developed three dimensionally by a single team using a single software system. This new approach increases quality and reduces mistakes throughout the design process, helping reduce costs and compress time to meet strict delivery schedules.
Press Toolmaking

Patternmaking
Delcam’s PowerSOLUTION software allows patternmakers to move from traditional methods based on drawings to modern, computer-based three-dimensional modelling and machining. The use of 3D computer models removes the ambiguity inherent in 2D drawings, so reducing mistakes and rework, while adding CNC machining allows productivity and accuracy to be increased and delivery times to be shortened.
Diecasting
Delcam’s PowerSOLUTION helps companies speed all stages of the design and manufacture of cast metal components. PowerSHAPE’s hybrid modelling combines the best of solid and surface modelling to give the flexibility needed when developing the complex shapes commonly used in the casting industry. PowerMILL provides fast and reliable generation of toolpaths for the machining of patterns and dies. The software supports a wide range of machining strategies, including options for high-speed machining and 5 Axis machining, and also offers flexible toolpath editing, integrated toolpath verification and post-processing. These features all combine to allow more accurate tooling to be made and ensure that correct parts are produced. This keeps costs down by minimising the amount of finish machining required on castings and by ensuring that the consistency is high enough to allow these operations to be automated.
