Rapid Prototyping

Rapid Prototyping or Additive Manufacturing, as it is called today, uses an additive method compared to substractive technologies like CNC machining. The additive method prints parts in layers from bottom up and use, depending on the technology chosen, a variety of materials from resins, wax, plaster, paper to metal powders.
.
Camplex offers rapid prototyping services using ProJet technology from 3D Systems. ProJet produces strong and durable parts in thermally stable materials with exceptionally fine detail and finish. The parts produced are strong enough to be used as working parts and enables you to perform testing for form, fit and function.

Our ProJet HD3000 Plus 3D Printer offer the highest level of accuracy and precision compared to any other 3D printer on the market today. With an extremely smooth surface finish our models rarely need to be sanded and they can stand up to a variety of other secondary processes; they can be painted, drilled, tapped or CNC machined.

Camplex will later in 2012 offer EBM (Electron Beam Melting) method for functional metal parts to be grown in titanium and cobalt-chrome materials.  The EBM process is unique in that it produces metal parts with 100% density and material properties are better than cast metal. Printing speed using EBM is also much faster than other similar technologies (4-5 times).

Camplex also has the capability to make parts using FDM technology (Fused Deposition Modeling) if it better suits the application. The material used here is extruded ABS plastic.
